New York Wedding from Brian Dorsey Studios + Ang Weddings and Events

I’ve been in a New York state of mind lately, with visions of romantic soirees at The Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall dancing around my head. In my dreams, these parties are filled with a warm, happy glow, a stunning floral design from Rountree Flowers, a cake with lavender buttercream frosting from Nine Cakes… in short this exact wedding from Ang Weddings and Events. It’s everything I dreamed of and more, and Brian Dorsey Studios captured a couple so lovely, we could hardly contain the beauty!

From the planner… Allison and Brian were married at the Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall, an elegant townhouse on Park Avenue. I love working at this venue. The different rooms provide an interesting progression and easy flow to an event. As you enter through the front doors, the antique chandelier and the magnificent marble staircase lined with candles take your breath away. Romance in Manhattan at its finest.
For their winter wedding, Allison and Brian chose a palette of crisp white, deep burgundy and metallic touches of gold. Creating a celebration that was classic, sophisticated and timeless. The marble hallway leading to the dinner reception in Peterson Hall was draped with a romantic sheer fabric, as was the Peterson Hall itself. Amber lighting provided an intimate and warm glow to the room. Rountree Flowers created two gorgeous tablescapes, one with towering white quince branches, and another with low lush arrangements of roses, lisianthus, stock and mini garden roses. All the tables featured a trio of striking mercury glass candlesticks.
Music was also an important part of the evening’s festivities. As guests arrived they were welcomed by a string trio, for cocktail hour they were serenaded by a solo guitar, and during dinner a jazz trio provided some smooth tunes. People could not stop raving about the delicious food that Feast and Fetes served. An 8-piece band Rhythm Collective kept the dance floor packed until the end of the night. Later into the evening, guests were treated to passed mini desserts from Feast and Fetes, along with a vanilla and strawberry wedding cake with lavender buttercream from Nine Cakes. As the Groom used to play water polo, Allison surprised Brian with an ice cream water polo Groom’s cake. The joyful day was captured beautifully in these stunning images by Brian Dorsey.
